Chrysler is preparing a major shift in how its flagship minivan will be powered. MotorTrend confirmed with Tim Kuniskis of Stellantis that the current Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid is nearing the end of its run. The familiar Pentastar 3.6 liter V6 will finish out the 2026 model year before being phased out. It currently provides 32 miles of electric only travel, powered by two electric motors and an electronically variable transmission that drives the front wheels. Shoppers who want the outgoing system will need to move quickly, since Kuniskis made it clear the refreshed version will not continue with the same setup.

This change is driven by Stellantis’ larger shift away from plug-in hybrids.
